VFA Art Dealer & Collector tours you through his private Studios, Episode #1

VFA, Episode #1
September 17, 2020

Ten years ago, after a serious illness I designed and built a 6,000 square foot studio on our property in Millbrook, NY which is 85 miles north of New York City in the Hudson River Valley. Our property was originally part of Henry Flagler’s family’s estate who was the founder of Standard Oil and the original developer of Florida and its railroads.

Our studio is multifaceted, we utilize it for research, cataloguing, design, framing and restoration along with storing the various artists works and estates that we own focusing on the New York School of Post War artists.

We consider VFA to be a completely unique experience as our business model differs from the traditional brick and mortar galleries. I have been involved in the art business for the past 50 years and own everything we offer as we believe in our expertise through our knowledge, scholarship and taste which is reassured by our experience and foresight within the art market.

Our primary gallery is located in a beautiful 3,000 square foot townhouse in New York City on the historic Turtle Bay Gardens located at 222 East 49th street next door to Kathryn Hepburn’s old residence. You will find our in-situ viewing with mid-century furnishings as one would in their own home instead of a white box gallery setting. We also personally curate where your interests lie and hang the gallery according to your tastes and needs for your visit.

Fifteen years ago, we became a private gallery because it was apparent that our audience was interested in what we owned and represented making our business focused, intimate and personable unlike many larger galleries.

Our two private destination locations are the perfect settings for viewing our vast inventories of Post War and Modern Art in the most private and safe accommodations one could dream of.
